Notice of Public Meeting for Athletics Division
Programs and Facilities Focus Group
Denton Civic Center, May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
DENTON, TX, May 16, 2019—The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting
a focus group meeting for public input on Athletics Division programs and facilities from youth
sports coaches, adult sports participants, club sports board members, and participants and
interested users to supplement the Needs Assessment Survey as part of the future Parks,
Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.
The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at
Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St.
The Athletics Division currently manages youth and adult sports leagues, instructional programs,
and field rentals. Staff representatives from the Parks and Recreation Department will be on site
to receive input on current programs and facilities, identify future trends and needs, and discuss
potential new programs, events, and partnerships that could be considered as part of the future
master plan.
