11132018 Press Release - Inclement Weather Warming Stations (Nov. 2018) IOv FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DENTON Jessica Rogers • (940) 349-7531 • Jessica.Rogers@cityofdenton.com Warming Stations During Extreme Cold Weather DENTON, TX, Nov. 13, 2018—With current temperatures falling below 32 degrees, assistance is available for those who need a place to escape the extreme cold weather and warm up. The City of Denton has worked with its partners to develop an inclement weather plan that includes a listing of various facilities and services available in the city during extreme weather. The attached inclement weather plan provides information on day-time warming stations, locations serving meals, and overnight shelters. Day-time warming stations include various City of Denton public facilities during operating hours, including the Denton Civic Center, Parks and Recreation centers, Public Libraries, Fire Stations, and Police Station. Individuals wishing to help or donate needed items for winter are encouraged to e-mail the Denton County Homeless Coalition at dchcinfo@gmail.com to learn more about how to volunteer and donate.
