I. Called to Order
The meeting was called to order by Kathleen Duffy at 11:35 a.m.
II. Approval of March 13, 2018 Minutes
Motion was made by Lt. Hildebrand to approve minutes as reviewed; seconded by Ann Sullivan
and approved.
III. Review of Denton Animal Shelter Reports – Gayla Nelson
A. Staff Positions – Four openings: two vacant positions and two more scheduled resignations.
The vetting process for prospective Animal Patrol Officers will now be the same as the
majority of Denton city employees.
The Mayor’s Summer Youth Program will once again provide four students to work 30 hours
per week at the shelter.
B. Kennel Reports - Live release rate year to date is 89.2%.
C. Community Events – DASF Wine & Whiskers-July 13; Clear the Shelter-August 18, TCAP
Clinic –August 8.
D. Volunteer Hours – They are now tracking the volunteer hours on an i-Pad. Not all of the
volunteers are entered into the system. Ann Sullivan had suggested scheduling volunteer
hours.
The Denton Running Club has been coming in the early morning to walk the larger dogs.

There was a question raised on term limits for the Denton Animal Shelter Advisory Committee
that Lt. Hildebrand will check on.
