Bonnie Brae Project Public Information Meetings
City to Hold Two Meetings Regarding Intersection Closure and Construction
DENTON, TX, May 24, 2019-The City of Denton will host two public informational meetings
regarding the upcoming construction project at the intersection of Bonnie Brae Street and
Scripture Street. The first meeting will be held on Thursday,May 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Highland Baptist Church (600 Thomas St.). The second meeting will be held on Thursday,
June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Denton Civic Center(321 McKinney St.).
The project will require temporary road closures to allow for the reconstruction of the
intersection at Bonnie Brae and Scripture and the installation of a roundabout at that location.
Weather permitting, the 12-week project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 10, and reach
substantial completion in August. In addition to installing new street infrastructure, the project
will provide greater safety and additional roadway capacity for motorists.
The informational meetings will review the scope and schedule of the project, detour routes
during the project duration, and other potential impacts to nearby properties. City staff will be
available at both meetings to answer questions from attendees. The meetings will be open house
format, allowing attendees to come and go at their convenience.
