Notice of Public Meeting for Athletics Division
Youth Sports and Leagues Focus Group
Denton Civic Center, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
DENTON, TX, November 27, 2019 — The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is
hosting a focus group meeting for public input on Athletics Division youth sports and leagues from
coaches, participants, youth sports associations, and interested users to supplement the Needs
Assessment Survey as part of the future Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at
Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St.
The Athletics Division currently manages all sports leagues, instructional programs, tournaments,
and field rentals. Staff representatives from the Parks and Recreation Department will be on site
to receive input on current youth sports leagues and programs, identify future trends and needs,
and discuss potential new partnerships, leagues, and programs that could be considered as part of
the future master plan.
