Avenue B Wastewater Sewer Main Replacement
1. Location: Avenue B from Margie Street to Underwood Street
2. Proposed Date of Construction: May 26, 2017
3. Proposed Date of Completion: June 23, 2017
4. Brief Description of the Project: This project involves the replacing a sewer main and
manholes. This work is being done in order to improve wastewater flow in this area and
reduce the risk of overflows. This is part of the Wastewater Department’s capital program
to replace deteriorating wastewater lines and other infrastructure. This project is still on
track to be finished by the proposed completion date.
Public notification on this project includes: door-hangers placed at impacted residences;
notification letter sent to residences and businesses in the area; notification sent to the
University of North Texas; and information sent on social media.
5. Special Requirements: In order to ensure your safety and to expedite the project, Ave. B
will be closed to through traffic during work hours and will reopened at the end of each
work day. There may be temporary delays entering and exiting driveways. We ask that
you refrain from parking on the street during this period.
6. Funding Source: This project is being funded by City Council approved maintenance
funds.
