Hickory Street Water Project (Phase 1)
1. Location: Hickory Street from Bonnie Brae Street to North Texas Boulevard
2. Proposed Date of Construction: May 1, 2017
3. Proposed Date of Completion: November 1, 2017
4. Brief Description of the Project: This is phase one of a four phase process for this
capital improvement project that will replace an eight inch water line. The existing eight inch water
line is under sized, has a high rate of failure and will be replaced by a twelve inch PVC water
line. Phase two from North Texas Boulevard to Avenue B will begin in July.
Public notification on this project includes: Door-hangers placed at impacted residences; press release,
meeting with representatives from the University of North Texas; notification letter sent to all
impacted residences and businesses; neighborhood meeting and information sent on social media.
5. Special Requirements: During this project, one lane of traffic on Hickory Street will remain
open whenever possible. No parking signs will be in place and there will be no parking on the
north side of Hickory Street. There may be temporary delays in getting in and out of driveways.
6. Funding Source: The project is being funded by City Council approved maintenance
funds.
