122120 Press Release - Holiday Closings _j�OF FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DENTON Ryan Adams • (940) 349-8565 • Ryan.Adamsgcityofdenton.com Holiday Operating Hours and Closings City Facilities Closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1 DENTON, TX, Dec. 21, 2020—While most City of Denton facilities are currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, other facilities may experience service alterations on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday, as well as Friday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day. Please note the following with respect to specific City of Denton services and facilities. Libraries All libraries will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; and Friday, Jan. 1. Modified library services, including drive-up services, will resume on the Saturday following each holiday (Dec. 26 and Jan. 2). Visit library.cityofdenton.corn to learn more about the library's modified services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Animal Services and Shelter Animal Services and the Linda McNatt Animal Care &Adoption Center will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; and Friday, Jan 1. Animal Services will resume regular hours on the Saturday following each holiday(Dec. 26 and Jan. 2) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; call (940) 349-7594 for more information. To report an animal-related non-emergency, call (940) 349-8181 and select option 1. In case of an emergency, dial 911. Parks and Recreation The MLK Jr. Rec Center,North Lakes Rec Center, North Lakes Driving Range, Goldfield Tennis Center, and Denton Natatorium will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 24 through Sunday, Dec. 27. Regular hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 28. These facilities will also be closed on Friday, Jan. 1 with regular hours resuming on Saturday, Jan. 2. The North Lakes Driving Range Clubhouse will be open from 8 to 11 a.m. only on Thursday, Dec. 31, and the Dispenser will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Denia Rec Center, Denton Civic Center, Denton Senior Center, Water Works Park, and the Civic Center Pool are currently closed to the public and will remain closed on through the holidays. Public Safety Public safety personnel will be on duty during the holidays. The Denton Police Department non- emergency number is (940) 349-8181, and in case of an emergency, dial 911. Utilities Customer Service operations will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24; Friday, Dec. 25; and Friday, Jan. 1. Customers may call (940) 349-8700 on the Monday following each holiday(Dec. 28 and Jan. 4)to pay bills or discuss their service. Online bill pay will not be affected. Additionally, no service disconnections due to nonpayment of a utility bill will occur until Jan. 4. Solid Waste and Recycling The City of Denton Landfill will close at noon on Thursday, Dec. 24 and be closed on Friday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Jan. 1. Currently, credit and debit cards are the only accepted forms of payment. Check www.dentonrecycles.com or for current schedule information. Dyno Dirt Dyno Dirt facilities will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 26, and Friday, Jan. 1 through Saturday, Jan. 2. Regular sales hours will on the Tuesday following each holiday (Dec. 29 and Jan. 5). Airport Airport administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25. The air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day. Flight services will be available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the holiday.
