Assistant Swim Coach - SA2004 - NATATORIUM City of Denton Job Description Effective Date: 02/19/2002  Revision Date:   Position ID:   Market Band:   FLSA Designation:    Title: Assistant Swim Coach  Department/Division: Parks & Recreation  Reports to: Aquatic Recreation Center Manager    Description Responsible for supervising, instructing and coaching all participants enrolled in the TAAF Swim Team along with the Head Swim Coach. Essential Functions Coaches a wide variety of age groups/skill levels Periodically submits written workouts to aquatic recreation center manager Maintains current team records Ensures the safety of all team members according to facility policies and procedures Ability to get along with customers, co-workers, and supervisors Regular and punctual attendance With the Head Swim Coach coordinates all Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (T.A.A.F.) summer swim meet entries for Denton swim team members May travel and represent the City of Denton at T.A.A.F swim meets. Assists with the hosting of all T.A.A.F. summer swim meets held in Denton Performs other duties as assigned Physical Requirements: Overall Strength Demands: The following describes the overall strength demand of the functions performed by the incumbent during a typical workday. Potential exists for lifting up to 25 pounds to carry class equipment Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 17 years or older Prefer at least 2 seasons of swim coaching/teaching experience Effective swimming skills CPR Certification Ability to communicate effectively in an instructional capacity Conditions of Employment Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License prior to employment Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security verification Must be able to work the entire season; morning and/or evening hours my be required Physical Requirements Overall Strength Demands: The following describes the overall strength demand of the functions performed by the incumbent during a typical workday.
