Intern II - SA2007 - WATER - UTILITIES ADMIN Green House Gas City of Denton Job Description Effective Date: 11/01/2007  Revision Date: 08/23/2016  Position ID: SA207  Market Band: SA  FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt   Title: Intern II – Green House Gas (GHG)  Department/Division: Utility Administration  Reports to: Special Projects Coordinator    Definition: Responsible for assisting the Utility Administration in all day-to-day operations Essential Job Functions: GHG Inventory Support Collects & records data for 2015 GHG inventory, in conjunction with Sustainability staff. Enters data for GHG into Clear Path Software in conjunction with Sustainability staff. Participates in ClearPath webinars to understand software capabilities for tracking, reporting, and forecasting. Assists special research studies, which includes compiling data, analyzing results, preparing reports or illustrative materials, and recommending proposed actions Under direct supervision, may assist with routine operations of the department Assists with computer operations, which includes data entry and retrieval Assists with customer inquiries and complaints Prepares memoranda, letters, and similar administrative responses upon request Answers telephone, refers and directs calls, answers routine inquiries, runs errands, and performs other department support functions upon request Professional appearance required Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/Acceptable Equivalency: Completion of one (1) year of college coursework Core Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customers Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance Conditions of Employment: Must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 30 days of hire per state law) Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check Preferences: Upper classman or graduate student Bilingual in Spanish and English Knowledge of marketing, business, communications, customer service, and graphic design Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Adobe Page Maker, QuarkXPress, and/or Photoshop Physical Requirements: Overall Strength Demands: The italicized word describes the overall strength demand of the functions performed by the incumbent during a typical workday.
