Mayor Issues Declaration of Local Disaster for Winter Weather Emergency
DENTON, TX, Feb. 15, 2021—On Monday, Feb. 15, Mayor Gerard Hudspeth signed a
declaration of local disaster for the current winter weather emergency. This declaration will
allow the City to take actions under our emergency management plan and to make emergency
purchases.
The declaration of disaster will take effect immediately after its issuance and last until the winter
weather emergency ends.
With a disaster declaration in effect, the City of Denton is able to:
• Access to emergency funding for response.
• Fully activate the City's emergency management plan.
