ORDINANCE NO. 2012-145
AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF
THE RUNOFF MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD 1N THE CITY OF DENTON ON JUNE 23,
2012.
THE COUNCII, OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and declares that the June 23, 2012 runoff municipal
election was duly ordered for the purpose of electing a Council Member to Place 5 and a Mayor to
Place 7; that proper notice of said election was duly given and election officials appointed; that said
election was duly held and the returns of the election officials have been delivered to the Council,
all in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the City of
Denton.
SECTION 2. The official returns of the election officials having been opened, examined
and canvassed, the Council hereby finds and declares that 4,491 ballots were cast at said election,
and that the votes cast for each place on the Council were as follows:

listed below are hereby declared to be elected to the City Council of the City of Denton:

FOR MAYOR PLACE 7: Marlc Burroughs
and such candidates sha11 assume the duties of their office on the date that they talce the official oath
of office.
