AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, RATIFYING THE ADOPTION OF
THE FISCAL YEAR 2014-15 ANNUAL PROGRAM OF SERVICES (BUDGET) AND THE
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 2014, AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30,
2015 WHEN THE BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE REVENUE FROM PROPERTY TAXES
THAN LAST YEAR'S BUDGET; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, has previously on this day af
September 16, 2014 adopted the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Annual Program of Services (Budget} and
the Capital Improvement Pragram for the City of Dentan and set a tax rate for 2014 in separate
votes and actions; and
WHEREAS, this Budget will raise more revenue from praperty taxes than last year's
budget; and
WHEREAS, Section 102.007 of the Texas Lacal Government Code requires the City
Council to take a separate vote to ratify the property tax increase reflected in the Budget when it
will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings set forth in the preamble of this Ordinance are incorporated
into the body of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby ratifies the adoption of the City of Dentan Fiscal
Year 2014-2015 Annual Program of Services (Budget) and the Capital

$5,641,834, which is a 11.72 percent increase fro last year's
budget. The prope tax revenue to be raised fro new prope
added to the tax roll this year is $1,292,895 W�tn a total taX rate of
$0.689750 per $100 oftaxable value. The City Council hereby ratifies the property tax increase
reflected in the Budget.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
appraval at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas on this the 16t�,
day September 2014 at which meeting a quorum was present and the meeting was held in
accordance with the provisians of Tex. Gov't Code § 551.001, et. seq. The City Secretary is
hereby directed to record this Ordinance and the vote to ratify approval of the adoption of the
Budget that will raise more revenue fram property taxes than last year's budget.
