WHEREAS, Section 1$-96 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Denton pravides that
city council may designate certain parking spaces as time limited parking spaces and the traffic
engineer shall cause parking spaces to be maintained and marked off in and an such streets and
parts thereof; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to establish two hour limited parking spaces an bath sides of
Hickory Street from its intersection with Lacust Street to its intersection with Railraad Street;

S� 4'"�I 1�ON 1. When sign(s) or marking(s) are installed giving natice of a two hour time
limit, it shall be an offense ta park a vehicle on Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until
5:00 p.m. for more than two hours on either side of Hickory Street from its intersection with
Locust Street to its intersection with Railroad Avenue.
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, ar word in
this ordinance, or application thereaf to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any court
af competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining partions of
this ordinance, and the City Council of the City af Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have
enacted such remaining portions despite any invalidity.
SECTION 3. Save and except as amended hereby, all the pravisions, sections,
subsections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses, and phrases of the Code of Ordinances shall remain
in full force and effect.
SECTION„ 4. Any person faund liable of violating this ordinance by a court of competent
jurisdiction shall be fined a sum not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500) per offense per day.
Each day that a provision of this ordinance is violated shall canstitute a separate offense.
SECTION.S. This ordinance providing for a penalty shall become effective fourteen (14)
days from the date of its passage, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption
af this ardinance to be published twice in the Denton Recard-Chronicle, the official newspaper
of the City of Denton, Texas, within ten (10} days of the date of its passage.
