2015-0085:\Legal\Our pocuments\Ordinances\15\First Amendment of New Sign Ordinance.doc ORDINANCE NO. 2�15-��g AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS REPEALING §§33.10.6 AND 33.18.8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABLITY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Ordinance 2014-406 was passed on December 1, 2014 as the new Denton Sign Code, to be codified as Chapter 33 of the Denton Code of Ordinances; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 2014-406 contemplated further revision and refinement through a series of successive iterative changes; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Denton, Texas desires, by this ordinance, to make the first of such successive iterative changes; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON TEXAS HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Sections 33.10.6 and 33.18.8 of the Denton Code of Ordinances, as recently established by Ordinance 2014-406, are hereby repealed, and all remaining provisions of Chapter 33 of the Denton Code of Ordinances and Ordinance 2014-406 shall continue in force as approved on December l, 2014. The City Secretary is hereby directed to enter notations and cross-references upon Ordinance 2014-406 in the official records of the City of Denton, Texas, as necessary and appropriate to apprise the public of the amendment herein provided. SECTION 2. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval. SECTION 3. To the extent not otherwise provided, this ordinance shall repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, but only insofar as the portion of such prior ordinance shall be in conflict; and as to all other sections of the ordinance not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and is hereby made cumulative except as to such prior ordinances or portions thereof as are expressly repealed hereby. SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable.
