AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT THROUGH THE NATIONAL
INTERGOVERNMENTAL PURCHASING ALLIANCE (NATIONAL IPA) FOR THE
PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND DIESEL FUELS FOR THE CITY OF DENTON AS
AWARDED BY CITY OF FORT WORTH CONTRACT #14 -0121; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (FILE 5750- PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND DIESEL FUELS
AWARDED TO MARTIN EAGLE OIL COMPANY, INC. IN THE THREE (3) YEAR
ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $12,500,000).
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to purchase
gasoline and diesel fuel in the estimated amount of $12,500,000 from Martin Eagle Oil
Company, Inc. under competitive proposals received by the National Intergovernmental
Purchasing Alliance as awarded by the City of Fort Worth, Texas in accordance with an
Interlocal Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation Agreement under Section 271.102 of
the Local Government Code which is on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby expressly delegates
the authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of
Denton under File 5750 to the City Manager of the City of Denton, Texas, or his designee.
SECTION 3. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to expend funds pursuant
to the agreement for the purchase of various goods and services.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
