2016-108S:\Legal\Our pocuments\Ordinances\16\Cinco de Mayo Sponsorship doc ORDINANCE NO. 2016-108 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CITY SPONSORSHIP IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $16,000 OF 1N-K1ND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE DENTON CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN QUAKERTOWN PARK ON MAY 14, 2016; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Cinco de Mayo Festival is requesting the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor, at the same level as in previous years, for the event to be held in Quakertown Park on May 14, 2016; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton has sponsored up to $11,500 of in-kind services and supplies for the 2015 event which included police, park staff, equipment, supplies, and facilities; and WHEREAS, in exchange for the said support the City of Denton was considered to be an event sponsor of the said event at a sponsorship level equal to the value of the in-kind service tendered; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest and beneiit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $16,000 of in- kind services for the event to be held in Quakertown Park on May 14, 2016; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $16,000 of in- kind services and supplies, including but not limited to police, park staff, equipment, supplies and facilities, and the said participation is hereby approved. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
