AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CITY SPONSORSHIP IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $3,090 OF IN-KIND SERVICES FOR THE ANNUAL TURKEY TROT TO BE
HELD IN DOWNTOWN DENTON ON NOVEMBER 24, 2016; AND PROVIDING AN
E FFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Area Running Club (DARC) has requested the City Council to
provide in-kind services and resources to support the event; and
WHEREAS, this is the first year that DARC has requested the in-kind services; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for the said support, the City of Denton will consider to be an
event sponsor of the said event at a sponsorship level equal to the value of the in-kind service
tendered; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the
citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $3,090 of in-
kind services for the event to be held in downtown Denton on November 24, 2016; NOW,
THEREFORE,
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the
citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $3,090 of in-
kind services, including but not limited to police, rental, city staff set-up and take -care of
barricades and the use of park equipment and the said participation is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
