The City Council finds and declares that the May 6, 2017 special municipal election was duly ordered for the purpose of putting the question before the City of Denton voters to authorize the adoption of a ceiling or limitation on the City ad valorem tax levy of a person who is disabled and a person who is sixty-five (65) years of age or older who makes application for and receives a homestead exemption; that the election was duly held and the returns of the election officials have been delivered to the Council, all in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the City of Denton. SECTION 2.
