WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance • 1 • • the City Councilof Denton,
approved the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget and Annual Program of Services (the "Budget");

WHEREAS, the City of Denton desires to fund improvements, equipment and other
expenses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton desires to fund Electric higher purchased power
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this Budget Amendment serves an important
municipal purpose as eligible items for expenditure in the current Budget, consistent with
Section 102.010 of the Texas Local Government Code and other applicable laws; NOW,
THEREFORE,
SECTION
......1... The findings set forth in the above preamble to this Ordinance are true and
correct and are hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget and Annual Program of Services is
hereby amended • • to allow foradjustments # the General Fund of $4,205,173
increasing appropriations f• ' :1. # 1 to 119,014,103; an• Electric Fund of $13,000,000,
increasing appropriations fr• 41: 1 to $186,408,320.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary, who is directed to
attach a copy of this Ordinance to the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget and Annual Program of
SECTION 4. This Ordinance was approved by at least five members of the City Council
as required by Section 8.08 of the City Charter.

approval.
