AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CITY SPONSORSHIP IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $3,000 OF IN-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL
DENTON COUNTY VETERANS RESOURCE FAIR AND HOMELESS VETERANS
STAND DOWN EVENT TO BE HELD IN THE CIVIC CENTER AND QUAKERTOWN
PARK LOCATED AT 321 E. MCKINNEY STREET, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2017;
WHEREAS, the Denton County Veterans Coalition is requesting the City of Denton to

Down • provide assistance to the homeless veteransDenton Countybe held in _
Civic Center and Quakertown Park on October 26, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton has sponsored up to $3,500 of in-kind services and
resources for the event waiving the Civic Center and Quakertown Park rental fees in prior years;
and
WHEREAS, in exchange for the said support, the City of Denton was considered to be an
event sponsor of the said event at a sponsorship level equal to the value of the in-kind service
tendered; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the
citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $3,000 of in-
kind services for the event to be held in the Civic Center and Quakertown Park on October 26,
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the
citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $3,000 of in-
kind services and resources, waiving the Civic Center and Quakertown Park rental fees, and the
said participation is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
