18-875s:\legal\our documents\ordinances\18\juneteenth • ' 1 ' •' i i AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS APPROVING A CITY SPONSORSHIP 1N AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,150 OF 1N-K1ND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE DENTON JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION ON FRIDAY, JUNE 15, AND SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 2018, AT FRED MOORE PARK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Denton Juneteenth committee is requesting the City of Denton to participate as a spansor for in-kind services and resaurces for the Denton Juneteenth Celebration held in Fred Moore Park beginning June 15-16, 2018; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton has previously sponsared up to $11,000 of in-kind services and resaurces for the event which included staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, security, park maintenance support, use of the Fred Maare Park far the two-day event; and WHEREAS, in exchange for the said support the City of Denton was considered to be an event spansor of the said event at a sponsorship level equal to the value of the in-kind service tendered; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the citizens of the City af Denton to participate as a sponsor at a level not to exceed $15,150 of in- kind services and resources for the event to be held in Fred Moore Park June 15-16, 2018; NOW, T1ZEn1iI' o R I,.y THE COL7NCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1.
