AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING A CITY SPONSORSHIP FOR
THE 2018 DENTON BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S DENTON BLUES
FESTIVAL IN DENTON, TEXAS FROM SEPTEMBER 14, 2018 THROUGH SEPTEMBER
16, 2018; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS 1N THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$3,000; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce is requesting the City of Denton to
participate as a sponsor in the amount of $3,000 for the 2018 Denton Blues Festival held at
Quakertown Park in Denton, Texas, from September 14, 2018 through September 16, 2018,
(hereafter referred to as "the Event"); and
WHEREAS, in exchange for the said support, the City of Denton will be considered to be
an event sponsor of the Event at a sponsorship level equal to the expenditure of funds tendered;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the citizens
of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor event in the total arnount of $3,000 for the Event;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings set forth in the preamble of this Ordinance are incorporated by
reference into the body of this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that it is in the public interest and benefit to the
citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a sponsor providing City services and resources for
the event.
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby authorizes and approves the expenditure of funds in
an amount not to exceed $3,000.00.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
