AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND
KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO
THE REVIEW OF DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR THE CITY OF DENTON, AMENDING
THE CONTRACT APPROVED BY THE CITY MANAGER ON JUNE 7, 2018, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $95,000; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (RFQ 6590-020– PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL
EXPENDITURE AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $32,000 FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT
NOT-TO-EXCEED $127,000).
WHEREAS, on June 7, 2018, the City Manager awarded a contract to Kimley-Horn and
Associates, Inc., in the amount of $95,000 for engineering services related to the review of
development projects for the City of Denton; and
WHEREAS, the Staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to
the Council that an amendment be authorized to amend such contract agreement, with respect to the
term of the agreement, and an increase in the payment amount; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The First Amendment, increasing the amount of the contract between the City
and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., which is on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, in the
amount of Thirty Two Thousand and 0/100 ($32,000) Dollars, is hereby approved and the
expenditure of funds therefor is hereby authorized in accordance with said amendment. The total
contract amount increases to $127,000.
SECTIONm„2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
