WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 43.061, Subchapter C-1, Texas Local Government Code,
a home rule city is authorized to annex certain areas that are not required to be in an annexatian
plan; and

WHEREAS, the property awner consents to the annexation and the Praperty qualiiies
under these criteria as it will require connection ta City public services and the Property is located
within the City's CCN boundary for water, wastewater, and electric service; and
WHE AS, the Denton City Council hereby deems it to be in the best interests af the citizens
of the City of Denton to pursue annexation of the Properties and to set public hearings in this matter
for this purposes NOW THEREFO ,

the City of Dentan City Council Chambers of City Hall, 215 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas,
the City Council will hold Public Hearings giving all interested persons the right to appear and be
heard on the praposed annexatian by the City of Denton, Texas, of the Praperties, more particularly
described in Exhibit A.
°w! w� � li�:i�«� �. The City Secretary of the City of Dentan, Texas, or her designee, is hereby
authorized and directed to cause notice af such public hearings to be published once in the newspaper
having general circulation in the City and in the above described territory not more than twenty days
nar less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearings and to publish the dates, times, and
locations of the public hearings on the City's website, in accordance with Chapter 43 of the Texas
Local Government Cade.
SECTION 3. In compliance with Section 2.09(c) of the Denton Charter, this
ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the date of its passage, and the
City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the caption of this ordinance to be published
twice in the Denton Record-Chronicle, a daily newspaper published in the City of Denton,
Texas, within ten (10) days of the date of its passage.
