AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A SALARY INCREASE OF THREE PERCENT (3%) FOR
CITY AUDITOR UMESH DALAL UNDER THE PERFORMANCE REVIEW PROVISION
OF HIS EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 16, 2018, the City of Denton City Council approved an
Employment Agreement with Umesh Dalal as the City Auditor of the City of Denton by
Ordinance No. 2018-019 commencing February 26, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has completed its performance review for City Auditor
Umesh Dalal, and the Council desires to approve an increase of three percent (3%) in City
Auditor Umesh Dalal's annual Base Salary; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the three percent (3%) salary
increase of City Auditor Umesh Dalal is in the best interest of the City of Denton; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are
incorporated into the body of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves a three percent (3%) increase in the
annual Base Salary of City Auditor Umesh Dalal, pursuant to Section 6.13. of the City Auditor's
Employment Agreement.
SECTION 3. Said salary increase shall be effective the first pay period following
Umesh Dalal's February 261h anniversary date.
SECTION 4. City expenditures provided for in the Employment Agreement, including
the salary increase approved herein, are hereby authorized.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
