AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, RATIFYING A CITY CO-SPONSORSHIP IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,141 OF 1N-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR
THE DENTON COMMUNITY MARKET FARMERS' AND ART MARKET, WHICH WAS
HELD ON SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 2019, AT THE DENTON CIVIC CENTER; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Community Market requested the City of Denton to participate as
a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the Farmers' and Art Market ("the Market"),
which was held on Sunday, March 14, 2019, at the Denton Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Farmers' and Art Market is to strengthen the Denton
community by providing economic opportunities for local artists, businesses, food vendors, and
food producers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $2,141 of in-kind services and
resources for the Market, which included staff, security, cleaning service, and use of the Denton
Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public's interest
and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to
exceed $2,141 of in-kind services and resources for the Market which was held on Sunday, April
14, 2019, at the Denton Civic Center; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public's interest
and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to
exceed $2,141 for in-kind services, staff, security, cleaning, and use of Denton Civic Center for
the Market, which was held on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Denton Civic Center and that said
participation as a co-sponsor is hereby approved.
S,ECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
