WHEREAS, the purpose of the Denton Blues Festival is to preserve the blues and further
the reputation of Denton as a music entertainment destination; and
WHEREA5, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $19,352 of in-kind services and
resources for the F'estival, which will include staff, equipment, facilities, security, park
maintenance support, and use of Quakertown Park; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event co-
sponsor of the Denton Blues Festival at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total value of the co-
sponsarship provided herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public's interest
and benefit to the citizens of the City af Denton to participate as a co-sponsar at a level not to
exceed $19,352 of in-kind services and resources for the Festival which will be held on Friday,
September 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00
p.m., and Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Quakertown Park;

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public's interest
and benefit to the citizens af the City of Denton to participate as a ca-sponsor at a level not to
exceed $19,352 far in-kind services, staff, equipment, facilities, security, park maintenance
support, and use of Quakertown Park for the Festival, which will be held on Friday, 5eptember
20, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and
Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and that said participation as a co-
sponsor is hereby approved.
SECTION,2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
