ORDINANCE NO. 19-2741
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, APPROVING A CITY CO-SPONSORSHIP
TO BRIDGING HOPE MINISTRIES 1N AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $993 OF IN-KIND
SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE Sth ANNUAL CHISTMAS BANQUET, WHICH
WILL BE HELD ON SLINDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2019, FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 5:00 P.M., AT THE
DENTON CIVIC CENTER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Bridging Hope Ministries is requesting the City Council to participate as
a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the Annual Christmas Banquet, which will be
held on Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Denton Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Annual Christmas Banquet is to offer homeless citizens a
holiday meal, fellowship, and other necessities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $993 of in-kind services and
resources for the Annual Christmas Banquet, which will include staff, facility fees, security, and
use of Denton Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event
co-sponsor of the Annual Christmas Banquet at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total value of
the co-sponsorship provided herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the co-sponsorship of the Annual Christmas
Banquet serves a municipal and public purpose, and is in the public's interest; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1: The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public's interest
and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to
exceed $993 for in-kind services, staff, facility fees, security, and use of Denton Civic Center;
for the Annual Christmas Banquet, which will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 3:00 p.m.
to 5:00 p.m., and that said participation as a co-sponsor is hereby approved.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.

3. �vent orga��izers will submit a completed Special F.vent Permit Application with a layout
of the vendor locations, public safety plen, site map, litter, recycling agreement, and
schedulc of evenis to the City'c Special Fvents Supervisor prior to the event.

4. Event organizers assume t�ll liability whatsoevar in connection with the Annual Christmas
Banquet, including but not limited tc� any damagea to City property, whAtever the cause,
while hosting this event, and a�rees to reimburse the C'ity for reparations within thirty (30)
calendar days of receipt of a noticc/invoice.
S. Event arganizara will charge and coUect all park vendor fees consistent with the City of
Denton Parks and RecreAtion Schedula of Fees Orciinance and remit these fees within ftve
working days after the event,
