AN ORDINANCE OF 'TI� CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING TI� APPROVAL OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND LLOYD
GOSSELINK ROCHELLE & TOWNSEND, P.C., AMENDING THE CONTRACT APPROVED BY
CITY COI7NCIL ON JANUARY 10, 2017, IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $715,000, TO
PROVIDE FOR SERVICES RELATED TO THE PERMITTING OF TI� PROPOSED EXPANSION
OF TI� CITY' S LANDFII,L AND FOR GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL LEGAL SERVICES SAID
FIRST AMENDMENT TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE PROFESSIONSAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT TO JLJLY 10, 2021; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (PSA 6288 -
EXTENDING A CONTRACT WITH LLOYD GOSSELINK ROCHELLE & TOWNSEND, P.C., TO
JLJLY 10, 2021).
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017, the City Council awarded a cantract Lloyd Gosselink
Rochelle & Townsend, P.C., in the amount of $715,000 for services related to the permitting ofthe
proposed expansion of the City's landfill and for general environmentallegal services; and
VVHEREAS, the Sta,i� having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to
the Council that an amendment be authorized to amend such agreement to e�end the tertn of the
agreement to July 10, 2021; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The first amendment to the professional services agreement with Lloyd
Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend, P.C., authorized by Ordinance 2017-012, is hereby approved
e�ending the term of the professional �ervices a�reement to July 10, 2Q21.
SECTION 3. The City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager to take any
actions that may be required or permitted to be perFormed by the City of Denton under this ordinance
to the City Manager of the City of Denton, or his designee.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
