AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME -RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE APPRO VAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND DDM CONSTRUCTION
CORPORATION, FOR THE BONNIE BRAE ROUNDABOUT; PROVIDING FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (IFB 7027
-CHANGE ORDER NO .2 IN THE NOT-TO -EXCEED AMOUNT OF $116,258 .81 FOR A
TOTAL CONTRACT AWARD AGGREGATED TO $3,607,105 .86).
WHEREAS , onMay21, 2019, by Ordinance No. 19-1054, theCouncilawardedacontractto
DDM Construction Corporation, in the amount of$2,905,536. 70 for the Bonnie Brae Roundabout;
and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 2019, by Ordinance No. 19-2121, the Council awarded a
Change Order to DDM Construction Corporation, in the amount of $585,31 0.35; and
WHEREAS, the Staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended to
the Council that a change order be authorized to amend such contract agreement with respect to the
scope of work and a decrease in the payment amount; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Change Order No. 2, increasing the amount of the contract between the City
and DDM Construction Corporation, which is on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, in the
amount of One Hundred Sixteen Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight and 81/100 ($116,258.81)
dollars, is hereby approved and the expenditure of funds therefore is hereby authorized in accordance
with said change order. The total purchase order amount increases to $3,607,105.86.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
