AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF $442,000 IN PREVIOUSLY
BUDGETED FUNDS FOR OUTSIDE COUNSEL AND OTHER PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED
TRIAL AND APPELLATE EXPENSES IN LITIGATION STYLED "MICHAEL GRIM AND
JIM MAYNARD V. CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS," TRIED IN THE 68TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT
COURT, DALLAS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously budgeted a risk retention fund, providing
funding for the City's trial and appellate expenses in this matter; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the expenditure of $442,000 in previ-
ously budgeted funds for outside counsel and other trial and appellate expenses in litigation
styled "Michael Grim and Jim Maynard v. C ity of Denton, Texas," tried in the 68th Judicial Dis-
trict Court, Dallas County, Texas.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
