20-709ORDINANCE NO. ZO-%O9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUlVICIl'AL CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND RIZIKON, INC., AMENDING THE CONTRACT APPROVED BY THE CITY MANAGER ON JANLJARY 16, 2020, IN THE NOT- TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $56,590; SAID FIRST AMENDMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE CITY' S SAFETY PROGRAM AND RISK MANAGEMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (RFP 7199 — PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL FIRST AMENDMENT EXPENDITURE AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $77,580, WITH THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $134,170). WHEREAS, on January 16, 2020, the City awarded a contract to Rizikon, Inc., in the amount of $55,590, to conduct a comprehensive administrative operational assessment of the City's Risk and Safety structure, culture, programs, and identify opportunities for improvement; and WHEREAS, the additional fees under the proposed First Amendment are fair and reasonable and are consistent with and nat higher than the recommended practices and fees applicable to the Provider's profession and such fees do not exceed the ma�mum provided by law; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCII., OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The First Amendment, increasing the amount of the contract between the City and Rizikon, Inc., which is an file in the office of the Purchasing Agent, in the amount of Seventy- Seven Thousand Five Hundred Eighty and 00/100 ($77,580) Dollars, is hereby approved and the expenditure of funds therefor is hereby authorized in accordance with said amendment. The total contract amount increases to $134,170. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
