AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER,
OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AND RECEIVE A FUNDING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND TI-� NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUN�IL OF
GOVERNMENTS, FOR THE S 11DFW/WAZE DATA SHARING PROGRAM; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WF�REAS, the City of Denton ("City") has been selected by the North Central Texas
Council of Governments ("NCTCOG") and approved by the Regional Transportation Council
("RTC") as a selected participant in the 511DFW/WAZE Data Sharing Program, as a part of
implementation of the Automated Vehicle Program; and
WHEREAS, selection for the S 11DFW/WAZE Data Sharing Program will award funding
to reimburse the City's eligible costs in the not-to-exceed amount of $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, having considered the Agreement that is required by
NCTCOG and the importance of the 511DFW/WAZE Data Sharing Program to the citizens of
Denton, and finding that it is in the public's health and safety interest, is of the opinion that it
should approve the above-referenced Agreement by and between the City and NCTCOG; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference as true and as if fully set forth in the body of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute on behalf
of the City the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between the North Central Texas Council of
Governments and City of Denton for Implementation of S 11DFW/WAZE Data Sharing Program,
a copy of which is attached hereto as E�ibit "A" and made a part hereof for all purposes (the
"Agreement").
SECTION 3. The City Manager, or his designee, is further authorized to carry out a11
duties and obligations to be performed by the City under the Agreement, including, but not limited
to, the receipt of grant funds.
SECTION 4, This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
