20-935ORDINANCE NO. 20-935 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME -RULE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, REJECTING ANY AND ALL COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS UNDER RFP 7262 FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE 651 MAYHILL BUILDING LOCATED AT 651 SOUTH MAYHILL ROAD; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (RFP 7262). WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received, and tabulated competitive proposals for the renovation of the 651 Mayhill building located at 651 South Mayhill Road in the City of Denton (RFP 7262) in accordance with the procedures of State laws and City ordinances; and WHEREAS, the City staff recommends, and the City Council has determined, that it is in the best interest of the City that the herein described proposals should be rejected; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The following competitive proposals, as described in the "Request for Proposal", "Bid Proposals" or plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City's Purchasing Agent filed according to the bid number assigned herein (for the renovation of the 651 Mayhill building located at 651 South Mayhill Road) are hereby rejected: RFP NUMBER CONTRACTOR AMOUNT 7262 Nouveau Construction & Technology Services $5,162,441 7262 Links Construction, LLC $5,164,000 7262 Northridge Construction Group $5,264,000 7262 JM Construction Solutions $5,685,746.66 7262 HCS, Inc. $5,800,000 SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents for the rejection of said proposals. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized, in his discretion, to readvertise to receive competitive bids, or proceed otherwise, to procure goods and services described in RFP 7262. SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton, hereby expressly delegates the authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of Denton under this ordinance to reject said proposals to the City Manager, or his designee. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
