AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS ESTABLISHING A RATE SCHEDULE
FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING RATE (“SCHEDULE EVCR“); AND, PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1 . Schedule EVCR – Electric Vehicle Charging Rate - is added to the City’s
current Schedule of Rates for electrical services as provided for in Chapter 26 of the City of Denton
Code of Ordinances and is as follows:

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING RATE
APPLICATION
Applicable to individuals who charge electric vehicles at City of Denton owned and operated electric
vehicle charging stations.
USARGE CHARGE
Usage Charge §O.04 per minute of charging time
BILLING FOR THE USAGE CHARGE
Billing for the Usage Charge shall be based on actual charging time incurred. Billing will be provided
by a third-party vendor on behalf of the City.
Usage Charge = Charging duration x Rate per minute
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in force when the provisions of this
ordinance became effective which are inconsistent, or in conflict with the terms or provisions
contained in this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this
ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance, and the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, hereby declares it would have enacted
such remaining portions despite any such invalidity.
SECTION 4 This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
