20-1749ORDINANCE NO.20-1749 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING A CITY CO-SPONSORSHIP TO THE NORTH TEXAS STATE FAIR ASSOCIATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,501 OF IN-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE ANNUAL NORTH TEXAS FAIR AND RODEO PARADE, WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2020, AT lo:oo A.M., AT THE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN SQUARE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the North Texas State Fair Association is requesting the City Council of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the Annual North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade (“the Event”), which will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the historic downtown square; and WHEREAS, the purpose of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade is to preserve and promote an understanding of the agricultural industry; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $6,501 of in-kind services and resources for the Event, which will include police security; and WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event co- sponsor of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total value of the co-sponsorship provided herein; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that the co-sponsorship of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade serves a municipal and public purpose, and is in the public’s interest; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS : SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public’s interest and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to exceed $6,501 for in-kind services and resources which include police security, which will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the historic downtown square and that said participation as a co-sponsor is hereby approved. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
