20-1321ORDINANCE NO.20-1321 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE. TO ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AN OFFER FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (“TXDOT”) IN THE AMOUNT OF $113,193.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF APPROXIMATELY 12,577 SQUARE FEET OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE E. PUCHALSKI SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 996, CITY AND COUNTY OF DENTON, TEXAS, BEING NEAR THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SOUTH BONNIE BRAE AND AIRPORT ROAD, FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 EAST; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING THE AFOREMENTIONED PROPERTY TO TXDOT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation (“TXDOT”) has made an offer to purchase a 12,577 square foot tract of land out of property owned by the City of Denton (“City”) for improvements to Interstate Highway 35 East, located near the Southwest Corner of South Bonnie Brae and Airport Road (“the Subject Property”); and WHEREAS, the City agrees to grant, sell, and convey the Subject Property to TXDOT for the purchase price of One Hundred Thirteen Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Three Dollars ($ 113,193.00); and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds the conveyance to TXDOT will benefit and serve a public purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1.
