AN ORDrNANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF
FUNDS FOR PAYMENTS BY THE CITY TO THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY FOR WASTE DISPOSAL FEES; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (WASTE DISPOSAL FEE IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $450,000).
WHEREAS, to comply with the landfill permit requirements of the City of Denton is
required to pay such fees imposed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ);
and
WHEREAS, the Texas Administrative Code requires that each operator of a facility in
Texas that disposes of municipal solid waste (MSW) is required to pay a fee to the TCEQ for all
waste received for disposal; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. That the expenditure of funds in an amount not to exceed $450,000 to be
paid to TCEQ in quarterly payments as invoiced by TCEQ is hereby authorized.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
