20-2199ORDINANCE NO.20-2199 AN ORDrNANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULED MUNICPAL CORPORATION, REJECTING ANY AND ALL COMPETITIVE BIDS UNDER IFB 7402 FOR PROFESSIONAL DEMOLITION SERVICE, REMOVAL, AND CLEANUP OF TWO (2) COMMERCLAL BUILDINGS LOCATED ON THE PROPOSED EAGLE SUBSTATION SITE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (IFB 7402). WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received, and tabulated competitive bids for professional demolition service, removal, and cleanup of two (2) commercial buildings located on the proposed Eagle Substation site (IFB 7402) in accordance with the procedures of State laws and City ordinances; and WHEREAS, the City staff recommends, and the City Council has determined, that it is in the best interest of the City that the herein described bids should be rejected; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The following competitive bids, as described in the “Bid Invitations”, “Bid Proposals” or plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City’s Purchasing Agent filed according to the bid number assigned herein (for professional demolition service, removal, and cleanup of two (2) commercial buildings located on the proposed Eagle Substation site - Bid Number 7402) are hereby rejected: BID NUMBER CONTRACTOR AMOUNT 7402 7402 7402 7402 7402 7402 7402 Intercon Environmental, Inc RNDI Companies Midwest Wrecking Company of Texas, Inc. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute all necessary documents for the rejection of said bids. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized, in his discretion, to re-advertise to receive competitive bids, or proceed otherwise, to procure goods and services described in IFB 7402. SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton hereby expressly delegates the authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of Denton under the IFB 7402 to reject said bids to the City Manager, or his designee. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
