20-2499ORDINANCE NO.20-2499 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICEPAL CORPORATION, RENAMING LYNBROOK DRIVE TO BASFLAM LANE BETWEEN ITS INTERSECTION WITH BRLARBROOK DRIVE AND ITS NORTHERN TERMINUS APPROXIMATELY 1 10 FEET NORTH OF CHEVY CHASE DRIVE WiTHEy PHASE 1 OF THE STARK FARMS ADDITION; PROVEDING FOR SEVERABEITY AND AN EFFECTrVE DATE. WHEREAS, City Staff has initiated a street name change from Lynbrook Drive to Basham Lane between its intersection with Bdarbrook Drive and its northern terminus approximately 1 10 feet north of Chevy Chase Drive within Phase 1 of the Stark Farms Addition, as shown on the final plat in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference (hereinafter, the “Subject Area”); and WHEREAS, on January 5, 2021, the City Council conducted a public meeting, and finds that the request meets and complies with all substantive and procedural standards set forth in the Denton Development Code, and is consistent with the Denton Plan 2030; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, in considering the request for a street name change from Lynbrook Drive to Basham Lane in the Subject Area, has determined that the requested name change is in the best interest of the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the City of Denton, and accordingly, the City Council of the City of Denton is of the opinion and finds that said name change is in the public interest and should be granted as set forth herein; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are incorporated herein by reference as true. SECTION 2. The street name ofLynbrook Drive in the Subject Area is hereby changed to Basham Lane. SECTION 3. The City’s official Mobility Plan map is amended to show the change in the street name. SECTION 4. The provisions of this ordinance are severable, and the invalidity of any phrase or part of this ordinance shall not affect the validity or effectiveness of the remainder of this ordinance. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, phrase or word in this ordinance, or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this ordinance, and City Council of the City of Denton, Texas hereby declares it would have enacted such remaining portions despite any such invalidity. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately after its passage and approval.
