AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, REJECTnqG ANY AND ALL COMPETITrvE BIDS UNDER UB 7359
FOR LAWN AND GROUNDSKEEPING EQUIPMENT, SUPPLIES, AND SERVICES FOR
VARIOUS CITY DEPARTMENTS; AND PROVDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (nB 7359).
WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received, and tabulated competitive bids for the
supply of lawn and groundskeeping, equipment, supplies, and services for the various
departments in the City of Denton (IFB 7359) in accordance with the procedures of state laws
and City ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the City staff recommends, and the City Council has determined, that it is in
the best interest of the City that the herein described bids should be rejected; NOW
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The following competitive bids, as described in the “Bid Invitations”, “Bid
Proposals” or plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City’s Purchasing Agent filed
according to the bid number assigned herein (for Lawn and Groundskeeping Equipment,
Supplies, and Service for various City Departments in the City of Denton Bid Number 7359) are
hereby rejected:

SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute all
necessary documents for the rejection of said bids. The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby
authorized, in his discretion, to readvertise to receive competitive bids, or proceed otherwise, to
procure goods and services described in IFB 7359.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton hereby expressly delegates the
authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of
Denton under the IFB 7359 to reject said bids to the City Manager, or his designee.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
