AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNIC'IPAL
CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AMENDMENT 1 TO AGREEMENT WITH CASA OF DENTON COUNTY TO EXTEND TO
APRIL 30, 2021 THE TERM OF AN AGREEMENT TO CONSTRUCT (_'ERTAIN
IMPROVEMENTS TO FACILITIES LOCATED AT 604 AND 610 NORTH BELL AVENUE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 20-841, the City of Denton (the “City“) entered
into an Agreement with CASA of Denton County (“CASA”) providing for the construction of
certain improvements to CASA’s facilities located at 604 and 610 North Bell Avenue, Denton,
Texas and reimbursement for such work of up to $40,000 (the “Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, the project has not yet been completed and the parties hereto desire to
amend the Agreement pursuant to Amendment 1 to Agreement (“ Amendment 1”), attached
hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein for all purposes, to extend the end of the term of the
Agreement from February 28, 2021 to April 30, 2021 to allow adequate time for completion of
the project and CASA’s request for reimbursement in accordance with the terms and conditions
of the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Amendment 1 provides that all other terms and conditions of the Agreement
will remain in full force and effect, including the reimbursement amount of up to $40,000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City hereby finds that extending the term of the
Agreement pursuant to Amendment 1 is in the public interest; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS :
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this Ordinance
are incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The Interim City Manager, or her designee, is hereby authorized to
execute Amendment 1, and to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the City under
Amendment 1 and the Agreement.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.

AGREEMENr BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND
CASA OF DENrON COUNTY
AMENDMENT 1 to Agreement
This Amendlnent I to Agwernent is made by and between the City of Denton (the “City”) and
CA.SA of Denton County ('CASA’?).
WHEREAS, the City. and CASA entered into a grant agm Bment for a project to make
certain improvements to CASA’s facilities located at 604 and 610 North Bell Avenu§, Denton,
Tex8s during the agreement’s term commencing March 1, 2020 and terminating February-28, 2021
(the ''Agreenrent'1), all as authorized by Ordinance No. 20-841; and
WHEREAS, the project oontenrplated under the Agreqment has not yet been aQmpleted
and the parties hereto desire to amend the Agreement to $xtend the term of the Agreement to allow
adequate dIne for completioh of the project and C.ASA's reqpwt R3r nimbur§ement of up to' FQrty
Thousand Dollars ( PIO,000) for the project in aocordance with the terms and conditions of the
Agreement;
NOW THEREFORE, in considuation of good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency
and receipt of which jg hereby acknowledged, the City and CASA agree as follows effective as of
February 28, 2021 :
1. Section 1, “Ternl’-’, of the Agreement is hereby amended to extend the term of LLp
.Agnemalt tD April 30, 2021.
2. The “,Estimated Project Tirnclinc” set forth at Exhibit A, “Scope of Services’ I, to the
Agreement shall be amended to replace the doh February 28, 2021 with the date April 30, 2021 in
each instance.
3, All other provisions, terms, covenants, duties, rights, obligatiohs, and agmemeats
contained in tIle Agreement shall mmain in full foue and effect.
4. This Amendment 1 to Agreetnent may be exdcuted in any number ofoounterpuls, each
