22-1029ORDINANCE NO. 22- 1029 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING A CITY CO-SPONSORSHIP TOTHE NORTH TEXAS STATE FAIR ASSOCIATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED$8,502.80 OF IN-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE ANNUAL NORTH TEXASFAIR AND RODEO PARADE WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 20, 2022,AT lo:oo A.M., AT THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVEDATE WHEREAS, the North Texas State Fair Association is requesting the City Council of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the Annual North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade (“the Event”), which will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Downtown Square; and WHEREAS, the purlmse of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade is to preserve and promote an understanding of the agricultural industry ; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $8,502.80 of in-kind services and resources for the Event, which will include police security; and WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event cosponsor of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total value of the co-sponsorship provided herein; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that the co-sponsorship of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade serves a municipal and public purpose and is in the public’sinterest; NOW THEREFORE; THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton finds it is in the public’s interest and benefits the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to exceed$8,502.80 for in-kind services and resources which includes police security, which will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Downtown Square at 10 a.m. and that said participation as a co-sponsor is hereby ratified and approved. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval. The motion to approve this Ordinance was made by Br M &?ck and seconded by Brand>h O\ase N\dep .
