AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING A CO-SPONSORSHIP TO THEDENTON NOON KIWANIS CLUB IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $24,095.00 OF IN-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR THE 4TH OF IULY FIREWORKS SHOW.WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, JULY 3, 2022, AT NORTH LAKES PARK; ANDPROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club is requesting the City Council of the City of
Denton to participate as a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the 4th of July
Fireworks Show (“the Event”), which will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at North Lakes Park;and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 4th of July Fireworks Show is to bring the community
together to celebrate Independence Day, while also providing a fundraiser for the Denton NoonKiwanis Children’s Clinic, which serves to provide low-cost or no-cost medical, dental, and
prescription assistance to disadvantaged children in the Denton area.; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $24,095.00 of in-kind services and
resources for the Event, which will include the park rental, Police, Fire/EMS, Solid WasteServices, and Park Staff; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event co-
sponsor of the 4th of July Fireworks Show at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total value of the
co-sponsorship provided herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that the co-sponsorship of the
4th of July Fireworks Show serves a municipal and public purpose, and is in the public’s interest;NOW THEREFORE;
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Denton finds that it is in the public’s interest
and benefit to the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to
exceed $24,095.00 for in-kind services and resources which includes the park rental, Police,
Fire/EMS, Solid Waste Services and Park Staff, which will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at
North Lakes Park and that said participation as a co-sponsor is hereby approved.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
