AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNicnAL
CORPORATION, REJECTING ANY AND ALL COMPETITIVE BIDS UNDER IFB 7989FOR THE SUPPLY OF FIBER OPTIC CABLE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE(IFB 7989).
WHEREAS, the City has solicited, received, and tabulated competitive bids for the
supply of fiber optic cable (IFB 7989) in accordance with the procedures of state laws and cityordinances; and
WHEREAS, the City staff recommends, and the City Council has determined, that it is inthe best interest of the City that the herein described bids should be rejected; NOWTHEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The following competitive bids, as described in the “Bid Invitations,” “Bid
Proposals,” or plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City’s Purchasing Agent, filed
according to the bid number assigned herein (supply of fiber optic cable Bid Number 7989), are
hereby rejected:

SECTION 2. The City Manager, or their designee, is hereby authorized to execute all
necessary documents for the rejection of said bids. The City Manager, or their designee, is
hereby authorized, in their discretion, to re-advertise to receive competitive bids, or proceed
otherwise, to procure goods and services described in IFB 7989.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Denton hereby expressly delegates the
authority to take any actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of
Denton under the IFB 7989 to reject said bids to the City Manager, or their designee.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
