AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING A CITY CO-SPONSORSHIP IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,615.66 OF IN-KIND SERVICES AND RESOURCESFOR THE ARTS & AUTOS EXTRAVAGANZA EVENT HOSTED BY THE DENTON MAIN
STREET ASSOCLATION, WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2022,FROM 9:oo A.M. TO 3:oo P.M., AT THE DENTON DOWNTOWN SQUARE, 110 w.HICKORY ST; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton Main Street Association is requesting the City Council of the Cityof Denton to participate as a co-sponsor for in-kind services and resources for the 23'd Annual Arts
and Autos Extravaganza (“the Event”), which will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at
the Denton Downtown Square; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Arts and Autos Extravaganza is to provide local and
visiting artists the opportunity to participate in the event, as well as attract car/truck/motorcycle
and art enthusiasts, as well as increase contribution to the local economy by dining and shoppingwith local businesses while attendees are downtown for the show.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton will co-sponsor up to $5,615.66 of in-kind services and
resources for the event, which will include police security and solid waste and recycling services;and
WHEREAS, in exchange for support, the City of Denton will be considered an event
cosponsor of the Arts and Autos Extravaganza at a co-sponsorship level equal to the total
value of the co-sponsorship provided herein; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that the co-sponsorship of the
Arts and Autos Extravaganza serves a municipal and public purpose and is in the public’sinterest; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS :
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton finds it is in the public’s interest and
benefits the citizens of the City of Denton to participate as a co-sponsor at a level not to exceed
$5,615.66 for in-kind services and resources which includes police security, which will be held
on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Downtown Square at 9:00 a.m. and that said participation
as a co-sponsor is hereby ratified and approved.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
