AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPROVING THE MEET AND CONFERAGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DENTON AND THE DENTON POLICE OFFICERS
ASSOCIATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 24, 2019, the City Council of the City of Denton adopted an
ordinance approving a three (3) year Meet and Confer Agreement, after ratification by a majority
of the membership of the Denton Police Officers Association, and that Agreement will expire onSeptember 30, 2022, and
WHEREAS, negotiating teams from the City and the Denton Police Officers Association
negotiated a successor Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” which was ratified by a majority
of the membership of the Association during a vote that occurred on September 2 – September 1 1,2022 and9
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton finds that entering into and ratifyingthe successor Agreement (Exhibit “A”) for a period of four (4) years, effective beginning on
October 1, 2022 and expiring on September 30, 2026, would serve a valid governmental public
purpose; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Meet and ConferAgreement between the City of Denton and the Denton Police Officers Association, in
substantially the form of the Agreement as attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” and made part of this
Ordinance by reference for all purposes.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
