A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON REPLACING ALISON MAGUIRE AS AMEMBER TO THE DENTON COUNTY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LEADERSHIP TEAM;AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership Team Bylaws outline the
board composition and states, in part, “ ... shall be composed of appointees from the following
entities ... (1) City of Denton.”&: -"-%
WHEREAS, on June 28, 2022, City Council adopted Resolution 22-1041 appointing
Mayor Gerard Hudspeth and Council Members Alison Maguire to DCBHLT for the term ending
June 30, 2024 (such applicable term covering the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024);and
Jg‘&:5WHEREAS, on November 8, 2022, Council Member Alison Maguire was recalled
under Proposition A as a majority of the qualified voters of the City cast ballots in favor of the
recall; and
WHEREAS, on November 22, 2022, City Council canvassed the results of the
November 8, 2022 Special Election officiating the removal of Council Member Alison
Maguire.
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the important work performed by the Denton
County Behavioral Health Leadership Team and therefore wishes to replace Alison Maguire; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration, has selected
to serve on the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership
Team for the unexpired term ending June 30, 2024 (such applicable term covering the period ofJuly 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024); NOW THEREFORE,q:%
%,THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated byreference.
SECTION 2. is appointed to serve on the Denton
County Behavioral Health Leadership Team for the unexpired term ending June 30, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
