AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPALCORPORATION, RATIFYING A CONTRACT EXTENSION BETWEEN THE CITY OFDENTON AND DUSTROL, INC., THROUGH DECEMBER 5, 2023, TO CONTINUEPROVIDING STREET MILLING SERVICES FOR THE STREETS DEPARTMENT; ANDDECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (FILE 6726 – EXTENDING A CONTRACT WITHDUSTROL, INC., TO DECEMBER 5, 2023).
WHEREAS, Ordinance 18-695 authorized a contract to Dustrol, Inc., for four (4) years,
for street milling services for the Streets Department, which is on file in the office of the Purchasing
Agent; and
WHEREAS, the staff having recommended, and the City Manager having recommended
to the City Council that an extension to the existing purchasing authority approved by Ordinance18-695 be authorized between the City and Dustrol, Inc., until December 5, 2023; and
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2022, Purchasing awarded a First Amendment to Dustrol, Inc., to
extend the contract term through December 5, 2022; and
WHEREAS, this procurement was undertaken as part of the City’s governmental
function; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the action taken herein is in the public interest;NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The authority to receive services from Dustrol, Inc., authorized by Ordinance
18-695, is hereby extended under File 6726 until December 5, 2023.
SECTION 3. The City Council delegates the authority to the City Manager to take any
actions that may be required or permitted to be performed by the City of Denton under File 6726to the City Manager or their designee.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage andapproval.
